About the job

As a manager in Region Halland, you have two missions: to manage and lead with a focus on results and to engage and motivate your employees. You are the employer's representative and you represent Region Halland, which means you have an understanding of the organization as a whole. You will be employed in a permanent position in your core profession with a four-year appointment as a manager.

The Adult Psychiatry Reception in Varberg works with shared management aiming to be a cohesive reception, and since one of our two managers at the reception in Varberg has sought new challenges, we are now looking for a new department manager. The division between the managers is team-based so that leadership follows the patient flows in the operation.

The person we are now looking for will be responsible for the two general psychiatric teams and the dependency team. Your manager colleague is responsible for the reception's DBT team, psych team, occupational therapists, and the medical secretary group.

In close collaboration with your manager colleague on site, you will lead the employees in the work to achieve the operational goals and develop adult psychiatric care. You are responsible for finance, personnel, and work environment. You are the immediate manager for about 23 employees with different professions.

You lead the operation so that employees' competence, engagement, and participation are developed and utilized. It is important that you contribute to a culture where continuous improvement work is a crucial and natural part of everyday work. You are part of the management team together with the operations manager, other department managers, medically responsible leaders, and psychologically responsible leaders.

The reception has a stable staff group with high competence, and you will be offered introduction, supervision, and continuous support in your work.

About the workplace

Psychiatry Halland is Region Halland's administration for all public specialist psychiatry. This includes psychiatry for children, adolescents, and adults, both outpatient and inpatient care.

Adult psychiatry outpatient care has the mission to investigate and treat specialist psychiatric patients. The target group is individuals over 18 years with neuropsychiatric conditions, severe depression and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, suicidality, and complex dependency issues.

We offer psychiatry close to the residents and have receptions in every municipality. Our operational focus, Right care at the right time! means a continuous effort towards increased quality, shorter lead times, and better patient participation.

The Adult Psychiatry Reception in Varberg has a catchment area of about 68,000 residents. The reception collaborates with the municipality's various units, primary care, and the psychiatric inpatient care in Varberg. There are about 50 employees at the reception – doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, caregivers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation coordinators, and medical secretaries. The reception is characterized by a positive spirit and continuous improvement work is conducted.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a relevant university education with a core profession that occurs within psychiatric care. Experience in psychiatric care is an advantage. You should have a clear commitment to leadership issues and we would like you to have experience in management work within healthcare.

A prerequisite for succeeding and thriving as a department manager with us is that you are developmental, communicative, and have a very good ability to collaborate. You strive to be a role model, show personal care, and be able to inspire and motivate your employees. You have an interest in improvement methodology and preferably experience in driving improvement work.

As a person, you are structured, clear in your communication, present, and can steer the operation according to set goals. Together with the employees and your manager colleague, you create a well-functioning care organization and a good working community. As a leader, you create participation and an engaged culture that allows employees to grow. You also have an interest in developing yourself as a manager. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

As travel is required in the job, a valid driver's license B is a requirement.
